Ozone was first used in Germany during the mid-1800’s to therapeutically purify blood. Physicians frequently used ozone in their practices until the 1930’s when the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) set out to remove all medical treatments that competed with allopathic drug therapies. This policy continues to the present time. However, Germany has over 8,000 licensed health practitioners using ozone as a therapy. Many more thousands of doctors around the world now use ozone—either alone or as a complement to other therapies. Ozone is a powerful oxidizing agent able to destroy a wide variety of viruses and bacteria. It also breaks down many chemicals such as pesticides, detergents, and poisonous chemicals. What does Ozone do?
Some conditions treated with ozone are:
Chelation & Intravenous Therapies
Chelation therapy is successfully applied as a specific treatment for toxic metals, and for the treatment of atherosclerosis (plaque buildup and hardening of the arteries). The chelating agent binds with harmful metals, such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, which then facilitates the excretion of the toxic metals. Successful reversal of heart disease, diabetic neuropathy, high blood pressure and many other chronic degenerative diseases are routinely accomplished by intravenous chelation therapy. Chelation therapy benefits are:
Bee Therapy/Apitherapy
Dr. Keyzer uses an extract of bee venom that is injected just under the skin. Icing the area before and after the application minimizes pain. Unfortunately, people diagnosed with having a bee sting allergy would be prevented from being able to use this treatment. The following is a partial list of conditions that may benefit from BVT:

Structural Therapies - Reflexology
This is a therapy that has many benefits. One of the most profound is the ability to reduce pain. My father became a reflexologist 40 years ago because he saw first hand the incredible reduction of pain in a cancer patient. This patient, my uncle, was dying of pancreatic cancer and needed morphine constantly to control the pain. Because of the morphine, he could not think clearly or communicate well with family members. After only a few reflexology sessions, the pain levels dropped significantly and he was able to wean off of the morphine. My father then decided to learn this art and treat my uncle. He would go daily to visit my uncle and give him very light gentle treatments. He couldn’t press hard because it hurt too much. As long as my father came every day, my uncle remained pain free and was able to think clearly and most importantly, spend quality time with his family. The treatments didn’t cure the cancer, but he had a much better quality of life during the last months of his time here. That experience had a huge effect on me and was a factor in deciding to become a Naturopathic physician. Reflexology has other benefits as well. The most important benefit is its ability to relax organs and tissues corresponding to areas of the feet, hands, or ears. Blood flows better and nerves conduct more effectively in organs that are relaxed. Better blood flow means increased oxygenation, increased nutrition and increased waste removal from tissues and organs. Reflexology is not a diagnostic tool, but can indirectly, help the doctor in making an assessment. When I work on someone’s feet and ask questions related to certain tender spots, I learn a great deal of information about the client, and if that client chooses to become a patient, I already have considerable information to work with. The client, of course, is free to ask as many questions as they like, as well. This is an opportunity for them to learn more about naturopathic medicine and the impact it can have on their health concerns. Other Therapies
